Dear C
Friday, October 9th
Been on a (for me) incredible long drive to Holland Jr. decided to only wake up during the traffic jams I got stuck in..
For him it was like one big trafficjam, it felt for me the same.

(yes, the truck on the right has “RE-MT” as licenseplate, which means “brake” in dutch, and the car to the left “MI-ST” which means as much as sch* ..
At least I didn’t get a nice print in Köln:

Never driven by so slow..
There were some nice “eyecatchers” though - fun to keep up as well, or, at least get close enough to get them full screen with 4x optical zoom. That is, when they don’t all of a sudden brake so that I miss the back side *sigh*

In the evening we arrived where we wanted to be, a japanese restaurant where they cook in front of you, at the table. We’ve been enjoying a great little show from the cook - and I must admit, I feel tempted to break the eggs the way he did ;) The beef was absolutely great (and the fire spectacular for Jr. :)
Saturday, October 10th
Up early and out to the sea.

Time to get dressed properly, no more warm Bergstrasse temperatures, like last week’s 24 degrees in the evening.

It had been pooring down though on the way to the sea .. But then again, everytime we get out of the car, it stops raining. A few more rainfull winds, and then we enjoyed even a bit of sun and blue sky.

Some ships enjoyed the wind as well, and sailed out of the harbor. It’s a beautiful sight when they went sideways when they went out of the “windshade” of the brick walls of the harbor.

The view towards the beach was also very interesting, a thin film of water was still over the beach, which reflected the dark grey sky behind it.

The waves turned white on a green sea, due to the sunlight and a very dark background. Typical October Northsea, I only missed the sand rushing over the beach :)

Towards the end of the harbor the default fisherman were surviving in the wet and windy weather. Without much result though. It seems that the variety and number of fish being caught here and more down south has dropped drastically.
A quick glimpse towards the seagulls having a fight with eachother. It’s rather high there, which Jr. doesn’t like that much. Nevertheless Jr. made the jump with me on the beach on the other side, really brave :)

And finally going back into the car before the next load of rain tries to wash us away.
Sunday, October 11th
After a long sleep at a friends place I woke up at 8 and shortly after that disappeared in my coffee with some lovely “koffie broodjes” :) Still didn’t like to go back with the memories of the long trip of Friday fresh in my mind.
After a shiatsu massage I felt a bit better. Not getting one, but giving one :)
* Just in case you perverts have no idea what shiatsu massage means, it means this
“from shi, meaning finger, and atsu, meaning pressure) is a traditional hands-on therapy originating in Japan.”
or have a look at the Shiatsu wiki site ;)
And the laugh of the late morning I had in the little “sound-only” ‘tuned’ Citroen C1 :))
After testdriving it through the local area and a bit of Autobahn, we wanted to record some sound “from the outside” while driving by with the C1. Ofcourse I volunteered to drive the little vehicle, shifting back gears and accelerating at the right moment with the right RPM. On my 2nd way back I happened to be stuck behind a “bling bling” black Golf with “wrong” exhaust, tainted glass and “wrong” wheels as well. I sneaked up close, shifted back gear and let the little citybug roar a bit. I had to laugh out loud when I saw the passenger (including the default baseball cap ;) turning his head around a few times to see “wtf that was”. A swift second later I could overtake - just at the right place for filming :)) Only when I am in front of them they wake up and decide to hunt me down as well :))
Here’s the vid - 9 sec shortie - just listen to it ;)
I do not know why, but there must be something with this road :) A few years ago I got there a nice “show” from a Honda Civic ‘VTEC’ with funny colored ‘fire’ coming out of his exhaust. Not sure if it was safe to stay behind this VTEC I just overtook them in the Peugeot 206cc ;)
I won’t mention the police and the close encounters on this road ;))
Later on Sunday I went back $ZUHAUSE and managed to “lift” along with a dutch BMW on the dutch Autobahn (yes, at least I *knew* where they were checking speed on the A12 *lol*
On the Autobahn I had a nice “lift” from 2 bobo’s in a grey Mercedes 320CDi from Schwäbisch Hall. For a mercedes driver, they understood pretty quick I didn’t want to overtake them on the right lane everytime I rolled out there (instead of braking). I just want to have free space and overview in front of me and don’t like to take the risk to drive in the left lane. Very nice :)
